2009 Accomplishments

Here are just a few of our achievements in the past year, made possible in-part by your support: 

• 80 housing units served by the Paint Program
• 59 housing units served by the Home Weatherization Program, with an additional 54 units planned or in progress for the remainder of 2009
• 700 code enforcement visual inspections completed
• 41 vacant housing units demolished
• 9 entities under contract through the Storefront Renovation Program and 10 storefronts under development
• 5,000 square feet of retail space under redevelopment
• 323 apartments continually managed through the property management department which includes 112 units in Cleveland Housing Network’s Lease Purchase Program
• 16 new businesses recruited to the Detroit Shoreway community

Detroit Shoreway is a member of Greater Cleveland Community Shares, a federation of nonprofits, that participate in many workplace campaigns. If your workplace has a giving campaign, you can designate Detroit Shoreway to receive your gift.
